Wanted to share a recipe for an iced coffee concoction I whipped up last night (and twice today)
2 tbsp instant coffee
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup instant cocoa mix
1 1/4 cup powdered milk
1 cup water
ice cubes
In blender, mix instant coffee powder, sugar, cocoa mix, and powdered milk. Pulse repeatedly until mixed. While running, add water through pour hole in lid. Blend until mized, stopping and scraping sides if required. Add ice through hole in lid, a few cubes at a time. Pulse until it no longer sounds like you're blending rocks. Makes one large drink (about 16 oz) or 2 small drinks (about 8 oz each).
Variation: Use 1 cup strong brewed coffee instead of the instant coffee and water. Blend the coffee with the powdered ingredients.
The cocoa mix I used was a homemade mix (cocoa powder, powdered sugar, powdered milk, powder coffee creamer, salt). Haven't tried it with commercial mixes.
It comes out cold, creamy, with just enough chocolate and coffee flavors to be richly satisfying. An experiment I actually managed to measure and record.
Now if only I could remember/figure out the amounts of everything I dumped into that chili last week....
