I Hate Splenda

I was all excited the other day. We went to Target, and I found non-carbonated cherry limeade flavored water. So, I bought two, along with a tangerine-lime carbonated water. I used to buy the tangerine-lime all the time at Giant Eagle, but hadn't been able to find any since moving here. Well, we get home, I crack open a cherry-lime, and take a big drink. Gyargh, but it tastes nasty. It's like liquid Jello, weak liquid Jello. Then I look at the ingredients. Splenda.

So far, I've only had one beverage with Splenda that I liked right off the bat, and that was 7-Up Plus. Every other Splenda-sweetened beverage I've had has just been plain nasty. Why can't they just stick with aspartame? That's what's in the tangerine-lime, which was just as tasty as the Giant Eagle brand.

I'm allergic to aspartame, and a lot of people have started rethinking whether that chemical is really OK to consume. That's why a lot of people have switched to splenda.

Ah. I see. But Splenda still gives me heartburn.
