I was checking the stats for my site tonight, and one of the main ones I check is "recent keywords." One of the recent ones was "zedden," which of course, leads to a few stories, since Ellen and I have been writing about Jamie since 1994. I was curious to see what else would come up with that, so I did a search myself.

What I found was surprising. Two different sites, both with a home domain page advertising MMO credits, one for Eve Online and one for FFXI, with sub-pages containing snippets of fanfics. Ellen confirmed that some of them were bits from her Trial Arc, but others weren't.

The sites are http://www.ffxigilstore.com and http://www.eveonlineiskstore.com If you wait for it to load, then use "select all," you'll see a line of itty-bitty numbers under the main image, links to the sub-pages. ffxigilstore has at least 50 sub pages.

It's somewhat surreal...for one thing, advertising gold farming with no way to contact or order. Also, the whole snippets of mixed fics on sub-pages. Trying to fill a domain? Any ideas?

This just weirds me out.

This is driving me nuts. A few years ago, I found a Kim Possible fanfic/fanart that was a Kim-Ron pairing. All I remember about it was Ron had a beard and was a reporter. Now, after watching "So The Drama," I can stomach a Kim-Ron pairing, and I want to find this fic again. But can I? Oh, no. All my searches on Google are coming up empty. No pics of a bearded Ron holding Kim. No fanfics mentioning Ron's beard.

So if anyone, ANYONE, knows what fic I'm thinking of, could you PLEASE send me a link? I'll be forever grateful.

Just something I've noticed during this first week-and-a-half of diet: food tastes so much better now. I was making spanish rice the other night, put a slice of black olive (just plain old ordinary canned black olive, nothing fancy) in my mouth, and I swear, flavor exploded.

Grocery shopping is a new, keep experience. Add in the whole "budget" factor, and trying to buy healthy food, and it just feels so accomplished when I leave the store.

And carrots are both tasty and suprisingly filling.

As for books, going back to the library today. I didn't devour the stack of books checked out last time as fast as usual, so I'm, returning four and renewing three. My goal is to finish all the Star Wars novels befor Episode Three comes out in May. In order. I've just started the novel before Episode Two. Now, here's the thing: the timeline I found from the publisher didn't have the Clone Wars novels on it. Are they after Ep.III? Guess more research is in order.

And Saturday I started reading Jetwolf and Ultrace's Buffy virtual continuation, The Chosen. Yikes. That sucked me in, and now I'm even more convinced I am NOT the person to write the Buffy chapters in The Ultimate Crossover. Even if I am playing fast and loose with continuities and timelines.

Finally!!

Finally, a four-year block has given way, and I have started progressive work on my long-standing project. Three pages of The Ultimate Crossover: Chapter One are under my belt. Once I figured out what was going wrong, the words flowed out of me.

I went and found my outline, and realized I may have a few hitches. I have a few Buffy-centric chapters. I am _so_ behind on Buffy-knowledge, and even though this fic takes place in 1998, I don't know if I have the mad fic skillz to pull it off realistically. There is a certain guest author I'd like to ask, but she's so monumentally busy with her own massive fic project, I'm afraid to ask. Add in I don't know how she feels about all the other universes that are appearing in the fic. Oh well, maybe once Ellen and I get the first few chapters written, I'll send this certain Buffy-verse writer a polite note. :)

Or maybe not. :-P
