Matt's working on his computers again. He has these two giant fans he wants to put inside a case. He just came out here, "I figured out how to get it to run the fans....TWO POWER SUPPLIES!! One for the computer things, and one for all the fans, lights, etcetera..." He then started laughing maniacally and headed back into his workroom.

I am afraid.

How many people have broadband, leave their computer on 24-7, and leave their messenger programs running as long as their computer is on? I do. My husband does. Our roommate does. All our local friends do. I'm just curious if this is just an "us" thing, or if it's more global.

Every so often, my computer shuts itself down, doing a good imitation of a British police siren. We've replaced the power supply, done some other work on the box, and still it does that. It did it last night while I was playing Sims2, just as two of my girls were going into labor. :-P

So does anyone know why my computer shuts off and screams at me, and what to do about it?

For the past few days, my computer wasn't connecting to the network. Therefore, no Internet. But, it's working now (when in doubt, reinstall the drivers).

Spent those two days playing Sims 2. I swear that game is digital crack. My husband is addicted more, finding hacks and skins and mods and all that good stuff.

Plus we got cable. I spent a good portion of yesterday watching a marathon of The Surreal Life on VH1. Mindless Entertainment, indeed!
