Running Around Town
Jan. 24th, 2007 09:20 pmWell, Matt left me the car today (he's borrowing a friend's truck, so usually on my day off, he'll take my car instead, but I had stuff I needed to do, so he left it for me). I wanted to go to the New Tokyo Food Mart up on Northern, since they carry the American issue ReMent miniatures, plus I had to get to the post office and mail the figure JoeWorf paid me for oh, a MONTH ago or more, and I wanted to check out the Desert Sky Mall I pass every day on my way to work.
I connected a lot of dots on my mental map getting to the Japanese market...trouble was, they're closed on Wednesdays. :( But hey, I know where they are now, and I peeked in the windows, and it looks interesting. So maybe I'll be off a different day next week and I can try again (plus, I should have my paycheck by then).
It turned out the post office I was trying to find was INSIDE the mall. So, I walked the mall, browsed through KayBee, bought some hand creme at Bath and Body Works, as well as some kitchen stuff at Dollar Tree, then got that figure mailed. There was a 99 Cent Only store across the street from the mall, so I wandered around there, too. Also hit a random 98 cent store and wandered around. I was surprised at the lack of Barbie knockoffs, although 99 Cent Only had a whole box of the My Design Scene pants from when Target, I think, had their My Scene promotion: doll in underwear or swimsuit, and you mix and match the outfit from a wall of choices. That was a promotion I wished I'd had some more spending money on. Some of the outfits were things I'd been looking for.
So, not a bad day.
