Lots of updates...
Nov. 7th, 2005 03:48 pmJob: I've been there for two weeks now, and surprisingly, I really like it there. The work itself, the production jobs, isn't so different from Staples, but the atmosphere is. At Staples, copy center was the dumping ground. We were not only copy center, we were customer service, returns, the main register, the information desk, the holding grounds for customer merchandise, and basically, anything else the management wanted us to be. At Office Max (at least this one), the PDS center is totally separate from the rest of the store. All we are is a print shop. And I love it. It's a good crew, a good team, and I like it so much better than Staples so far. Except for the register. I miss my kick-ass touch screen with all the pricing info programmed into it so all I had to do was touch the right buttons and the correct price would be on the screen. I'm still getting the hang of using the big book of UPC codes and the separate little book of pricing grids. :-P
Car: I have a new car! The Corsica just wasn't going to last much longer, so Matt made some deals at his work and got me a 2004 Mazda 6 sport wagon. It's white with a tan interior, power locks, power windows, keyless entry system, 1-disc cd player...I like it. It goes "zoom zoom." :-D
Phone: We also got digital phone installed last week. Also a good thing; it has unlimited long distance, so now I can call my friends and relatives and not worry about jacking up the phone bill.
Sick: Still have a deep, wracking cough, but the congestion, etc, is gone. Appetite still decreased, and I lost ten pounds the first week I was sick.
TV: I'm becoming a CSI addict again. The original, the Las Vegas edition. Grissom and Greg are hot. Yowsa.
