I like finding writing I'd forgotten about or didn't remember writing. Recently, a coworker was asking me for tips on how to become more creative. I mentioned a few writing exercises, and offered to loan him my notes from my intro to fiction writing class. Well, before I gave him the binder, I went through it (had to make sure there wasn't anything embarassing in there). What I found in the looseleaf section was a conversation snippet that I STILL don't remember writing, don't know what the inspiration was, who's talking, etc. It's slightly surreal, and I found it highly amusing, so I'm going to share.

A: I'm ready to leave the hospital.
C: What'd I say yesterday?
B: You're what?
A: I'm ready to leave the hospital. I feel fine.
B: Are you so sure you're ready?
A: Of course; I haven't been better in ages.
B: What about yesterday, when you threw your soup out the window because it was possessed?
A: Well...
B: And the day before that when you refused to sleep in your room because there was a marching band in your closet keeping you awake...
A: But...
B: And that the parade was going to begin soon and you wanted to leave before the horses came out from the sink...
A: They were in the dresser!
B: And the fireworks were supposed to start under your bed!
A: I didn't want to sleep in a flaming bed!

I so wish I could remember what this was about. Or failing that, that I could find something to use it in now. :)
