Fouond a good local breakfast place today. Brigs Restaurant in Cary. Veddy good, but a little too expensive to be an "everyday" breakfast place. Ran about $9 a person. I got the hotcake combo, with 2 gingerbread pancakes (oh wow, were those good), 2 scrambled eggs, and 4 strips of bacon (but got five, as two were stuck together--bonus!). Matt got the Arizona Scramble: "Scrambled eggs with smoked turkey, jalapenos, green chiles and chives topped with cheddar-jack and fire-baked. Served with salsa." Came with homefries (diced potatoes with cheese & onions) and an English muffin. We left suitably stuffed, and I brought about half a pancake home with me. These are not wimpy pancakes. They're about the size of a dinner plate. The fact that I ate one-and-a-half pancakes that size, as well as 2 eggs and 4 strips of bacon (gave one to Matt, since I tried his potatoes and muffin), means I must have been REALLY hungry, or I'm gonna be paying for it later. :-P

But yeah, Brigs is gonna be a "treat" or a "company" breakfast place, not an everyday breakfast place. Now, if we could find a place down here like C's Waffle House or Landmark like back in Ohio, where both of us could eat and be stuffed for under $10? That would be our everyday breakfast place. But for now, we'll stick to making it at home.
