While playing the game yesterday, one of the questions was "What is your most cherished possession?" Without thinking too much on it, I answered "My wedding ring."

It got me thinking as to why. My wedding ring isn't extravagant; it's just a plain, narrow, white gold band. Nothing flashy. My engagement ring is the flashy one, with a blue diamond center stone and two smaller round white diamonds on each side, white gold. But it's my wedding ring that I cherish.

I finally decided that how I was looking at it was like this: the engagement ring is the promise, but the wedding ring is the commitment.

Now I half-wonder what it means that Matt's answer was "my computer." :-P

I still think it's funny that I'm about two and a half weeks from my four-year wedding anniversary and I still don't have a wedding ring. :P
