"Bad Mommy" Moments
Feb. 8th, 2005 09:41 amI've had a few "bad mommy" moments in the past week. My first was thinking, "If my kid was asleep, I wouldn't bother waking it up if I had to go somewhere...she'd probably still be asleep when I got back."
The second, I locked my cat in the linen closet. Around 9:30 in the morning. She went in, wouldn't come out, so I shut the door. Went and did my errands.
Around 12:30 THAT NIGHT, We hear a scratching. Matt gets up, looks at the door...there's no cat. Then he pauses. "Jen, is there a cat trapped somewhere?" Pause, think, think...."Oh my God!! Athena's still in the closet!!"
Miraculously, she didn't make a mess or anything in there, nor did she make a beeline for food, water or litterbox.
But now I can't tease Kristina about shutting the cats in her dresser drawer for three hours.
