25 Random Things
From Facebook:
Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you.
1. I've been tagged by three, count 'em THREE people to do this.
2. I don't like re-tagging or making people do things, so I'm just tagging the three who tagged me.
3. I've lived in three states since I got married: Ohio, North Carolina, and Arizona.
4. I don't mind being in rush-hour traffic if I'm driving, and the only one in the car.
5. I can't wear my hair up in the car, either driving or as a passenger.
6. It took me 14 quarters and a semester to get my bachelor's degree, but now I have a job I totally love that I don't even need the damn degree for.
7. Babies and children scare me. I'm not comfortable around them, I can't understand what kids are saying, and I have no idea how to act around them. This bothers me, because I used to be fairly okay with kids. Somewhere along the way, a switch flipped, and now I can't be around them.
8. Because of the above, the fact that I have PCOS isn't as heartbreaking to me as it is to most women who are diagnosed with it.
9. If I had my way, I'd be a hermit. I don't like large (or small!) groups of people. I like being at home.
10. I don't like being overweight and unhealthy, and I don't like that I don't have the motivation to do anything about it other than hate it.
11. I stopped going for a geology degree when I realized that I can't see in microscopes. But I still like going to awe-inspiring natural places. In the last year, I've been to the Grand Canyon, Sunset Crater Volcano, the Petrified Forest, and the Painted Desert.
12. Two years ago, I went gluten-free.
13. I have four cats: Dante and Athena, littermates I got in October 1999, when they were 9 weeks old; Patch, my husband's cat, who's about the same age, and is the last of the litter his older cat had the last time he was in Arizona; and Scamp (aka Underfoot), less than a year old, who came running across our path about two months ago. They all fight with each other.
14. My shoes are quite attractive to Scamp. He sticks his head fully inside the shoe (when it's off) and attacks.
15. I haven't felt rested since 1996, and my doctors have no idea why.
16. I hate housecleaning.
17. My house doesn't have any fancy floor coverings. It's just the bare concrete pad. We pulled up the 30-year-old orange carpet two years ago, but haven't had the money to get new flooring put down.
18. I haven't seriously written anything fiction-wise in over a year, and it hurts.
19. When I see a tree marked for removal or topping, it hurts.
20. I love thrift stores, and there are a LOT close by.
21. I'm the only one in my family that doesn't like strawberries.
22. I prefer vegetables to most fruits.
23. I'm on a quest to create the perfect hot chocolate recipe.
24. I have to go to bed soon.
25. I seriously want a Dr Pepper.
